Brandon Griffith and 2021 Scarefest Recap SF2021 E35
Was 2021 the best Scarefest in Scarefest history? We think so and co-owner Brandon Griffith sits down with Wes this week to give his recap of Scarefest 13. No matter how hard all the wonderful Staph are and how hard they work to bring the best Scarefest yet, things will inevitably have a few bumps in the road and this year was no exception BUT the energy and flow of things were as if a huge weight was lifted from the convention and it showed.
Post mistakes lead to future success and Brandon points out that Scarefest is still growing and will only get better from here. Scarefest 13 went so well that Brandon didn’t even get threatened to be kicked in the dick! Horror fans are much better than country fans (this was discovered the weekend of Scarefest 13) but more importantly they are loyal and Wes and Brandon both discuss their appreciation for the fans and the hard-working Staph that keep the wheels working.

Horror & SciFi Prop Preservation Association SF2021 E30
Props, costumes, and film relics are the topics of this week’s show as Wes hosts James Azrael and Craig Champion of the Horror and SciFi Prop Preservation Association (HSPPA for short). The HSPPA is a not-for-profit museum containing a vast collection of screen-used and production made props that spans about every genre of the film industry
Wes, James, and Craig discuss how this incredible collection began, the technical aspects of transporting these treasured pieces, how they select content for each show, and what can be handled and what can’t. We also get a sneak peek at some amazing props from ASH VS THE EVIL DEAD, PUPPET MASTER, and other well-known films and shows.
In our regular features we get another round of announcements and cancellations as well as Joe Lewis’ analysis of the new Amazon Prime anthology series THEM.
Not An Episode with Brandon Griffith
When is an episode not an episode? It’s when Wes brings us an extra special broadcast just to catch us up on some last-minute news. Wes gets the scoop directly from our own Brandon Griffith, calling in live directly from the fishing pond.
The main newsflash focuses on a double-booking snafu for Tony Todd, Candyman himself, who sadly couldn’t make it to Scarefest this year. However, there is some light at the end of the tunnel in the form of a wish-come-true reunion as some of the cast of the WISHMASTER series will be joining the festivities.
And no episode (that’s not an episode) would be complete without a visit from Joe Lewis, who gives us his thoughts on A QUIET PLACE 2.
R.I.P. Coyote Chris Sutton…. we’ll all miss your wisdom.
Seven Weeks Away SF 2021 E29
Scarefest is creeping up on us as Wes and Chad Harlan discuss the lead up to the big event. This show couldn’t get started any better than a promise of a small dump. It’s not what you think…thank goodness! It’s just a heaping pile of celebrity announcements.
Wes and Chad also discuss the quality of the upcoming movies to be showcased in the Film Festival, lay out the details for all of the great events to come like throwing axes with killers and Scream Queen bowling as well as cover some frequently asked questions. Also, we wish a very happy birthday to Anita Forsythe.
Stick around for Joe Lewis’ review of the mind-bending GREEN KNIGHT, a slow burn horror tale based on Arthurian legend.
Michael Ayers SF 2021 E28
Wes and Chad Harlan kick it into overdrive as their guest this week is Michael Ayers, owner of the horror themed Phantom Ghost Project UTV. That’s an all-terrain vehicle, ya’ll…and yet it’s not.
Michael talks about how he got into utility terrain vehicle customization, what moved him towards horror themed builds, and the Phantom Ghost’s crazy array of added features. It’s Mike’s first Zoom call so there are some pesky WiFi gremlins making trouble during the show. After all – he’s in a garage in Tennessee.
Regular weekly features bring us a cheeky review of the animatronic nightmare that is WILLY’S WONDERLAND, starring Nicholas Cage, and a fresh batch of tantalizing announcements.
