Wes & Adrienne with The Latest SF News SF 2021 E33

Scarefest 13 is shaping up to be our best year yet and Wes and Adrienne are hear to discuss everything coming our way. From the launch party, horror trivia, VIP party, black carpet event and so much more. With the new convention center comes new space and new exciting things like live entertainment throughout the weekend, larger stage for costume contests and the most exciting is the addition of Lexlive which brings with it a large variety of things to do including theaters for our film festival which promises to bring the best films Scarefest has ever seen.

Scarefest 13 is back with a vengeance and promises something for everyone so you’ll want to tune in and get the run down from those in the know. As an added bonus, you also get to find out which celebrities mother threatened to kill Wes and which year at Scarefest almost did him in.

P.J. Starks SF2021 E32

Writer, producer, director, actor and all-around jack of all trades PJ Starks joins Wes and cohost Chad this week to talk about his latest endeavor, 13 Slays of X-mas. PJ is a homegrown Kentucky boy and he talks to us about growing up in small town Kentucky and how his grandmother of all people, fueled his love for horror.

Not all horror movie makers start out making horror and PJ is no exception and he explains how Scooby Doo began it all for him. His latest film, 13 Slays of X-mas promises to be a thrill/gore filled ride and PJ is gracious enough to breakdown what the film is about and what to expect. If you are a lover of horror, anthologies and awesome people, be sure to tune in this week and get your fill!

Amelia Kinkade SF 2021 E31

This week’s episode gets amped up to eleven as Wes and co host CC Ann welcome Amelia Kinkade, better known as Angela from the NIGHT OF THE DEMONS series. Since her time as the demonic Angela, Amelia has flourished as an author, philanthropist, and animal empath. If that’s not impressive enough, Rue McClanahan, one of the Golden Girls, happens to be her aunt. Trust us, this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Amelia opens up to Wes and CC about her animal empathy and the wonderful lessons she’s learned from it, her rather unconventional audition for NIGHT OF THE DEMONS, her many books, and the healing power of animals. On top of all of this, Amelia is also a professional dancer, has been invited to Buckingham Palace to speak to the royal horses, and is truly passionate about teaching wildlife conservation. This is one of those shows that has a little bit of everything.

Horror & SciFi Prop Preservation Association SF2021 E30

Props, costumes, and film relics are the topics of this week’s show as Wes hosts James Azrael and Craig Champion of the Horror and SciFi Prop Preservation Association (HSPPA for short). The HSPPA is a not-for-profit museum containing a vast collection of screen-used and production made props that spans about every genre of the film industry

Wes, James, and Craig discuss how this incredible collection began, the technical aspects of transporting these treasured pieces, how they select content for each show, and what can be handled and what can’t. We also get a sneak peek at some amazing props from ASH VS THE EVIL DEAD, PUPPET MASTER, and other well-known films and shows.

In our regular features we get another round of announcements and cancellations as well as Joe Lewis’ analysis of the new Amazon Prime anthology series THEM.

Not An Episode with Brandon Griffith

When is an episode not an episode? It’s when Wes brings us an extra special broadcast just to catch us up on some last-minute news. Wes gets the scoop directly from our own Brandon Griffith, calling in live directly from the fishing pond.

The main newsflash focuses on a double-booking snafu for Tony Todd, Candyman himself, who sadly couldn’t make it to Scarefest this year. However, there is some light at the end of the tunnel in the form of a wish-come-true reunion as some of the cast of the WISHMASTER series will be joining the festivities.

And no episode (that’s not an episode) would be complete without a visit from Joe Lewis, who gives us his thoughts on A QUIET PLACE 2.

R.I.P. Coyote Chris Sutton…. we’ll all miss your wisdom.

Seven Weeks Away SF 2021 E29

Scarefest is creeping up on us as Wes and Chad Harlan discuss the lead up to the big event. This show couldn’t get started any better than a promise of a small dump. It’s not what you think…thank goodness! It’s just a heaping pile of celebrity announcements.

Wes and Chad also discuss the quality of the upcoming movies to be showcased in the Film Festival, lay out the details for all of the great events to come like throwing axes with killers and Scream Queen bowling as well as cover some frequently asked questions. Also, we wish a very happy birthday to Anita Forsythe.

Stick around for Joe Lewis’ review of the mind-bending GREEN KNIGHT, a slow burn horror tale based on Arthurian legend.

Michael Ayers SF 2021 E28

Wes and Chad Harlan kick it into overdrive as their guest this week is Michael Ayers, owner of the horror themed Phantom Ghost Project UTV. That’s an all-terrain vehicle, ya’ll…and yet it’s not.

Michael talks about how he got into utility terrain vehicle customization, what moved him towards horror themed builds, and the Phantom Ghost’s crazy array of added features. It’s Mike’s first Zoom call so there are some pesky WiFi gremlins making trouble during the show. After all – he’s in a garage in Tennessee.

Regular weekly features bring us a cheeky review of the animatronic nightmare that is WILLY’S WONDERLAND, starring Nicholas Cage, and a fresh batch of tantalizing announcements.

Gavin & Paula Kelly SF 2021 E27

Wes goes stag tonight as he welcomes paranormal sweethearts Gavin and Paula Kelley to the show to give a little insight into their seminar topic at Scarefest 13, Turning Skeptics into Believers.

Gavin and Paula share with Wes how they pick their paranormal investigation sites, discuss how religious stigma affects the view of the paranormal, and share a few scary ghost encounters. It’s night full of limestone and ley lines.

In our regular features, Joe Lewis reviews the final movie in the FEAR STREET trilogy, FEAR STREET: 1666 and we learn that a well-known tabloid magazine is branching into the movie industry.

Claire Heaney SF 2021 E26

This week Wes and co-host CC Ann welcome Claire Heaney, pop culture aficionado, to promote her seminar topic for Scarefest 13, a comparison of the family dynamics of the Addams family versus the Munsters.

Claire discusses her views on the paranormal, pop culture, females in the horror genre, and even a leap into the realm of cosplay. We also find out how many things Wes can do with a trench coat. Spoiler alert, it’s not what you think. It’s a fun show.

Keep an eye out for a few paranormal celebrity and other event announcements and see Joe Lewis’ review of part two of the FEAR STREET trilogy, FEAR STREET 1978.

Dani Bailey SF2021 E25

This week Wes and Chad Harlan speak to Dani Bailey about cannibalistic killer Ed Gein. Bailey brings a unique perspective to the table as members of her family were involved in the murder investigation.

Dani discusses elements of the case, shows some crime scene photos, and promises a replica of the infamous belt made of nipples. She also discusses her role in the fan film FRIDAY THE 13TH VENGEANCE 2: BLOODLINES along with other aspects of her growing acting career.

We also get a huge celebrity announcement (hint – think Troma pictures) and Wes gives us news about the high price of horror movie memorabilia and a horror themed escape room.
