Beverly McChesney SF2023 E15

Tarot, spirit guides, and mysteries abound tonight as Wes and co-host Katie Followell welcome claircognizant extraordinaire Beverly McChesney to the show.

They discuss Beverly’s vast skill set, Wes’ tarot reading talents, and the mystery of Mama Ruby. Beverly also gives a rundown on the Fool Moon Sisters Bizarre Bazaar, providing information on vendors and all of the wonders to expect from this upcoming event. There might even be some celebrity announcements.

Stick around for Joe Lewis’ ferociously honest insights into JEEPER CREEPERS REBORN. It just might save your life.

Just More Stuff SF2023 E14

This week Wes and co-host Chad Harlan dust off their ad lib skills in a totally improvised episode full of random interesting facts and tomfoolery. They discuss the huge number of entries in this year’s Film Festival, Tik Tok yoga, and some of the latest television shows that are currently on their watchlists. Plus, will Wes become a marathon running vegetarian? Watch and find out.

In our regular features, we get three new celebrity announcements, including some familiar faces, and Joe Lewis reviews the Hulu horror/thriller HUNTER HUNTER, starring Devon Sawa and Nick Stahl.

The Council SF2023 E13

The time is upon us again as the all-knowing, all-powerful Council meets once more to discuss all things Scarefest, and maybe even a few other things in between. How much coolness can one show handle?

Wes, Brandon, and Adrienne spill the beans about limits on VIP tickets, electric bras, and the benefits of moving the film festival back to the convention center. Plus, they also field some questions from the chatroom. Bonus game: try to figure out where Adrienne is visiting this week (hint: there are lots of bears).

In our regular features, there are two groovy celebrity announcements and Joe Lewis gives his insight on the Netflix television series WEDNESDAY. It’s spooky and altogether ooky.

Running Out of Names for these Announcement Episodes SF 2023 E12

This week Wes is joined by co-host Katie Followell as they explore deep into the mind of fear and wax poetically about the nature of terror. Wait, scratch that. Just kidding. It’s not that kind of show this week.

Wes and Katie do give two big names coming to Scarefest (hint: they both are tied to HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES) as well as talk about Katie’s visit to a food convention and Lexington Comic Con, generational childhood heroes, and where the saying “eating crow” originates. Plus, can anyone beat Wes’ blood pressure record? You may not want to.

Speaking of eating crow, Joe Lewis critiques M. Night Shyamalan’s KNOCK AT THE CABIN. Based on his love/hate relationship with M. Night’s films, Joe really doubles down on this one.

Just Some More Celebrity Announcements SF 2023 E11

As they say, brevity is the soul of wit. Or something like that. This week, Wes and co-host Chad Harlan bring us another short episode to keep us up to speed on all those celebrity announcements coming down the pike.

Along with a FRIDAY THE 13th related celebrity, Chad and Wes also share how Wes caught fire recently, almost had his cardiac monitor go off, and all of his recent treadmill tribulations. Plus, we get a peek at some of Wes’ post coronary gifts from fans and ponder why dad bods are attractive.

Don’t forget to stick around from Joe Lewis’ weekly movie review. This week he takes on COCAINE BEAR. How can anyone not like Pablo Escobear?

Just Some Celebrity Announcements SF2023 E10

On tonight’s show, the Scarefest crew proves size doesn’t matter as Wes, along with co-hosts Chad Harlan and Katie Followell, give a nice little chapter in the Scarefest saga in roughly half the time as a standard episode.

The trio discuss Wes’ recent cardiac episode, do a little man purse talk, give a few reminders about the film festival and speaker announcements, and pass along some information on the current drag show debate. Plus, there are a few new celebrity announcements that include some paranormal news.

In our regular features, Joe Lewis spills the tea about HOUSE OF DARKNESS, starring Justin Long and Kate Bosworth.

The Coronary Episode SF2023 E9

Say it’s not so. Yes, tonight we discuss Wes’ near-death experience as the enigmatic Council meets after an extra week off due to poor weather. It’s all here. Nitro glycerin, defibrillator bras, and smoking cessation.

Wes shares his advice on recognizing blood pressure and thyroid issues, the trials of wearing a CPAP while having a beard, his steps toward living healthier, and the importance of being your own advocate in medical situations. Sneaking into the conversation are a few new, exciting celebrity announcements and the question of who has the most attractive ER nurses.

Plus, Joe Lewis offers his take on the critically acclaimed AI killer doll movie M3GAN. Sure, it’s beautifully made but does it live up to the hype? Joe knows and Joe tells.

Christian Bachini of Escalation SF2023 E8

The excitement quickly rises this week as Wes welcomes Christian Bachini to the show. Bachini wrote, directed, produced and starred in ESCALATION, the winner of the Best Short Film award at the 2022 Scarefest film festival.

Christian discusses how ESCALATION developed as a project and who inspired him, his aspirations to be a martials arts film actor, and ESCALATION’s recognition at other film festivals. Christian also gives us an insightful look behind the filming process. And somewhere in there, we get some new celebrity announcements.

In Bonehead weekly news, Joe Lewis shares a double dose of 1999 nostalgia with his reviews of the HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL remake and Tim Burton’s SLEEPY HOLLOW.

Just a Few Announcements SF2023 E7

In the candy world, tonight’s episode would be considered bite sized. Yes, this week may be a little shorter than the average show but, as the saying goes, size doesn’t matter because it’s still packed with all that Scarefest goodness.

Wes and fellow Council member Adrienne Elder break into a discussion on current television shows and movies as well as make a few new celebrity announcements that include a DAY OF THE DEAD star and a certain infamous cocaine bear. Plus, we get a peek at Adrienne’s mystery gift. The episode may be short but it’s sweet.

Daniel Benedict from The Bloody Man SF2023 E6

Whip up a Bloody Mary and settle in because tonight’s show takes a trip into the demented world of Daniel Benedict, the writer and director of the indie horror flick, THE BLOODY MAN. Wes steps back from the interview loft to let co-hosts Katie Followell and Chad Harlan take the reins.

Daniel discusses the techniques he used to weave various 1980s influences into THE BLOODY MAN, how he once developed a MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE fan film and gives us a peek inside his love of horror. Interesting facts: THE BLOODY MAN was filmed right here in Kentucky and features roles played by a few NIGHTMARE ON ELM STEET alumni actresses.

Plus, we get a new celebrity announcement and Joe Lewis gives his review of the Netflix murder mystery film THE PALE BLUE EYE.
