Balance: Really Bad Tarot January 4, 2019

Happy New Year everyone. For the second thing I’ve done to celebrate the New Year, I am finally doing a Really Bad Tarot Reading for everyone. For this week’s reading I chose the Baroque Bohemian Cats’ Tarot deck. I love this deck despite not knowing what baroque nor bohemian mean. I do however know they are real words because I have heard them before and my spell check didn’t underline them.

The card that I drew (and by drew I mean it fell out of the deck while I was shuffling) is the Justice Card.

I think that this is the card’s way of telling us that we all need to start the New Year off by doing what is right. But the imagery of the card also is elaborating to me on that generic message.

We need to do what is right, not just because it is right, not just because it makes us feel all warm and fuzzy, but also if we don’t, the universe is ready to bite our ass (or poke us with pointy things if you really want to drag out the metaphors from the art).

Notice the pictured cat has a stern look. This cat does not love you. This cat does not hate you. This cat (symbolizing the universe) is rather indifferent to you. This cat just wants you to know there are consequences to your actions.

This card is not telling us to balance our lives. This card is telling us that balance will be enforced.

So do not seek balance in your life. Put your best intentions and actions forward and accept the balance that comes.
